The body and lid of the bag is made from sturdy and reliable vegetable-tanned cow leather, treated and preserved with neatsfoot oil to keep it moisturized. The gusset of the bag is made from a black-dyed deerhide buckskin. The lid clasps shut with a golden snap button.
The lid of the bag is hand-carved and painted with an image based on an ancient Viking longship, with its sails replaced by the Solar Cross symbol.
