Our Tall Wallets are a timeless and elegant production of historical Veg-tan leather. Carved with intricate artwork, they are not only rugged and durable, but a conversation piece and a work that is sure to satisfy for years. Each wallet is roomy and has a fantastic feel in the hand; say goodbye to those box store wallets!
The Quality
This wallet is entirely handmade; cut, carved, embossed, painted and sewn by a real leatherworker from 100% top-grain vegetable-tanned leather. Veg-tan will develop a rich patina over time and form to the wearer, making it even more beautiful with time. Each wallet is saddle-stitched using a waxed thread and the edges are finished with beeswax and a black edge paint. The interior of the wallet is highly functional; it contains eight long pockets including two large bill pockets.
The Artwork
The hand-carving and artwork on this wallet is inspired by the feathered serpent of Aztec mythology; Quetzalcoatl. Known as the "Feathered Serpent," this dragon was a primary Aztec deity representing the union of earth and sky. As a god of wind, Venus, knowledge, and arts, he was a creator of humanity and a bringer of maize.
