This one of a kind leather handbag is part of our Polar Bear Bag range. These fantastic, rugged bags are inspired by the natural beauty of the arctic climate and the animals that inhabit it.
The artwork of this bag is all hand-carved and painted, completely hand-sewn designs curated by me. The lid depicts the image of a polar bear, among the ice shelves of an arctic environ. The lid clasps shut using a leather cord that wraps around a large wooden toggle. When opened, the front of the bag reveals a plate of recycled fur from a vintage 1970's polar bear coat, brought from the Northwest Territories.
The body of this bag is made from sturdy and reliable vegetable-tanned cow leather, treated and preserved with neatsfoot oil to keep it moisturized. The flexible walls are made of a soft brown bison leather and the black inner lining is a smooth pigskin. The strap is a single piece of veg-tan leather that hooks on with silver clasps and is adjustable with a small buckle.
